Day 3 Cingjing 清境農場 on 10-11-2012 Saturday

After checking out the hotel, we took MRT from Kaoshiung Main Station to Zhuoyi (THSR).

We have pre-booked the HSR ticket from Zhuoyi to Taichung
@ early bird fare NT630, ($27) per person

From Zuoying to Taichung, one hour journey by HSR

We reached Taichung HSR Station @ 8.00am, we walked to Nautou Bus station, located in exit 5 platform 3 to buy bus ticket to Cingjing.

We bought the bus ticket depart @ 8.45 am from Taichung HSR to puli to Songgang 松崗, the minsu owner will arrange transport and send us to minsu from Songgang. Ticket cost NT262, ($11) per person.

Bus interval to Cingjing can be found in Nantous Bus website.

If you miss the bus and you don't want to wait, another way is to share a cab with others ( 4 persons/cab ) to Cingjing, cab fare @ NT1700, ($72).

We reached Songgang 松崗 around 10.55am, took 2 hours from Taichung HSR to Cingjing. We called the Minsu owner and 10 minutes later, he came and send us to his minsu.

We need to check-in to the Starry Minsu, we pay NT2500, ($105) for one night with free steamboat dinner and breakfast for 2 persons.

After check-in the minsu owner Mr. Lee (李大哥) gave us the map and show us where to wait for him after the Cingjing Farm tour. 

The minsu owner alight us at the Cingjing Farm and we decided to have lunch before going to Cingjing Farm.

We took fried rice NT 90, ($3.8)  and bamboo rice NT60, ($2.5) for lunch.

We bought the Cingjing Farm ticket ,entrance fee NT200, ($8.5) per person.

Sheep shearing 
 Sheep shearing show was performed by a New Zealander who can  speak Mandarin and the performance only available on weekend and public holiday,entrance fee is more expensive in weekend, NT200 ($8.5) and NT160 ($6.8) for weekday.

  We bought 2 bottles of goat candy for NT100, ($4.2).

After the Cingjing Farm, we walked around Cingjing for scenery and photography.

Next we went to Carton King Restaurant, the chairs and tables inside the restaurant are made of cardboard paper.

 Carton King 紙箱王, there are few Carton King stores in Taiwan. Every items from Carton King is made of cardboard paper.

The Small Swiss Garden has been called "Taiwan’s Little Switzerland", but the garden is relatively small.

Around 5.30 pm, we went to the carpark to wait for minsu owner to send us back to minsu.

Dinner time, we went to look for minus owner Mr. Lee (李大哥) for our dinner. He told us the kitchen was under renovation, we need to have our dinner at the open space.

Soup for the steamboat was very tasty, taiwanese style sweet and abit sour ( with tomato ) comes with a plate of vegetable and pork. The set is enough for 2 persons, if you want to add extra pork, they will charge NT100 ($4) per plate, quite cheap. The chilli sauce was nice and they told us the recipe was given by Singaporean tourist. 

Having steamboat under cooling weather was a very good experience.

Back to room for sleep and next day we are going to Sun Moon Lake.
